Sand more dangerous than sharks

People naturally worry about splashier threats, like shark attacks. However, the Marons’ research found there were 16 sand hole or tunnel deaths in the U.S. from 1990-2006 compared with 12 fatal shark attacks for the same period, according to University of Florida statistics.

More than two dozen young people have been killed over the last decade when sand holes collapsed on them, report father-and-son doctors who have made warning of the risk their personal campaign.

Rooftop sex leads to deadly 50 foot plunge

COLUMBIA, S.C. –Police on Wednesday were investigating how a naked couple fell 50 feet from the roof of a downtown office building to their deaths. Clothing was discovered on the roof, leading authorities to suspect the man and woman, in their early 20s, may have been having sex.

Tazered man catches fire

SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) — Authorities were investigating Tuesday whether a Taser stun gun police used to try to subdue a man who doused himself in gasoline caused him to ignite in flames. Police said they used pepper spray while trying to take the man into custody before using the Taser, an electric stun gun designed to help officers subdue violent suspects.

Study Links Candy Cigarettes to Smoking

The study is the first to show a statistical link between a history with fake cigarettes and adult experiences with real smokes —22 percent of current or former smokers had also regularly consumed candy cigarettes, while only 14 percent of those who have never smoked had eaten or played with candy cigarettes often or very often.
