13 year old hacks iPod Touch
A 13-year-old programmer, AriX, has developed a software tool for jailbreaking (unlocking for third-party applications) your iPod Touch with 1.1.1 firmware. Hitachi to make 4TB hard disk drive
Hitachi today announced another step forward in packing more data into the same sized hard disks with what is now the world’s smallest read-head technology for hard disks. While others (Hitachi themselves included) are starting to turn to solid state drives or hybrid drives with advantages of moving parts, faster response times and less power consumption, Hitachi continues to make advances on the HDD front stating it continues to provide a better capacity to cost ratio than other technologies. As if her behavior over the past year hasn’t been worrying enough, the troubled pop singer sparked new concerns of a breakdown after she allegedly called her ex-husband Kevin Federline and threatening to kill herself.
According to a report in British tabloid News of the World, in a phone call made by Britney Spears to her ex about the new visitation rules for the couple’s children, the 25-year-old allegedly snapped: “I’m going to drive off the cliff! Blood test to detect Alzheimer’s early
MONDAY, Oct. 15 (HealthDay News) — An international team of scientists has developed a blood test that could reveal which patients with mild cognitive impairment will go on to develop Alzheimer’s disease.If replicated and validated — and assuming the development of effective treatments against Alzheimer’s in the future — such a test could open the door to medicating at-risk patients earlier and slowing or limiting neurological damage, explained Dr. Allan Levey, chair of neurology at Emory University, Atlanta. O’FALLON, Mo. — It was 4 a.m. The guys had been playing for 20 hours. Greg Cizek, 42, of St. Albans, had just pitched seven innings. He reared back and threw his best fastball yet.
“Where did that come from?” screamed his teammate, Steve Pona, 39, of St. Louis. Cizek pounded his chest with his fist. It had come from his heart.

Donut thief should be given the chair
Farmington Missouri: A Missouri man could potentially face a 30-year prison sentence for stealing a doughnut from a store.Scott A. Masters, 41, of Park Hills, Missouri, has been charged with felony second-degree robbery in the theft of a 52-cent doughut from a Country Mart in Farmington, about 70 miles (113 kilometers) south of St. Louis. Store employees said he slipped the doughnut into his sweat shirt without paying last December, then pushed away a clerk who tried to stop him as he fled the store. Continue Reading »
First Washington Post Reporter Killed in Iraq
A correspondent for The Washington Post has been killed while on assignment in Iraq. The newspaper says 32-year-old Salih Saif Aldin was killed Sunday while reporting on the violence in the Baghdad neighborhood of Sadiyah.
Aldin was an Iraqi who sometimes wrote under the name Salih Dehema for security reasons. The newspaper reports Aldin’s wounds appeared to indicate he was shot at close range. His body was later found on the street, covered with newspapers.
He was the first reporter for the newspaper to be killed during the Iraq war. Iraqi journalists working for local or international media frequently come under threats from insurgents because of their reporting or their affiliation with Western organizations.
Beware of attacking karaoke machine
A crazed attacker broke into a Long Island man’s home, beat him with a karaoke machine and bit off his ear, police said. Doctors were unable to reattach the ear of the victim, but his injuries were not considered life threatening, said Nassau County police Officer Mary Verna. The 64-year-old Uniondale resident attempted to defend himself with a vacuum cleaner hose. Continue Reading »
Mastermind of first WTC attack reportedly has converted to christianity
Ramzi Yousef, the mastermind of the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, claims he converted from Islam to Christianity, Scott Pelley reports in a story that brings viewers inside the secretive “Supermax” prison where he is being held. Pelley also reports that some 900 force feedings were performed on other al-Qaeda terrorists who went on repeated hunger strikes to protest conditions at the Colorado top-security federal prison. 95 year old women grows 5 inch horn
A 95 year old woman from Zhanjiang, south China, has sprouted a 12 centimetre long horn on her forehead. The horn first grew in 2003 and has grown progressively bigger and bigger, taking over the poor woman’s face.
