NAACP suing for drug money

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)–The NAACP now is part of a racial discrimination case in which more than 50 people allege Eli Lilly & Co. (LLY) created a hostile workplace and paid them less.
Attorney Josh Rose says the federal lawsuit also will seek class status. He says hundreds of current and former employees of the Indianapolis-based drugmaker say they’ve been treated unfairly.
Executive Director Dennis Hayes of the NAACP says other plaintiffs may join the case.
Lilly vice president for diversity Patty Martin says the original case filed against the company last year lacks merit and the allegations don’t reflect its values.
