An Indonesian fisherman who feared that he would be killed by tree-like growths covering his body has been given hope of recovery by an American doctor – and Vitamin A.
Dede, now 35, baffled medical experts when warty “roots” began growing out of his arms and feet after he cut his knee in a teenage accident.
The welts spread across his body unchecked and soon he was left unable to carry out everyday household tasks.
Sacked from his job and deserted by his wife, Dede has been raising his two children – now in their late teens – in poverty, resigned to the fact that local doctors had no cure for his condition.

Yes he’s real. He was featured on a the Discovery Channel. The growths are caused by the human papilloma virus, which normally causes tiny warts, but because of an immune deficiency, this man was unable to restrain their growth. He’s not the only one with this. A man in one of the Baltic states has it also. Last I heard he had surgery to remove the growths from his right hand. I wonder how all the people who laugh at him would manage if they had to live with his condition.
Poor guy! This would not happen if all people were well fed and had access to doctors locally.. there’s enough money in the world and the talent too.
It just shows again how far we have fallen from man’s original duty to ‘look after the earth’ ! God must weep!
On the positive side it also shows how humans have the spirit to overcome and even laugh in the direst of situations – did you notice his lovely smile!
There are poor people all over the world who, despite their circumstances, can smile! This is remarkable and shows we can get used to almost anything – not that we should have to of course.

omg how dumb can u guys be, its and infection from his knee cut and it just spread and cause some kind of mutation, only people with brain can tell… and he just need the proper medicine but i dont think his hand will go back to normal. or he can become and ancient tree that gives blessing to people who worships him and speaks to them.. its always good to become part of mother nature. ^^

This is realy happen in my home town Bandung. West java, Indonesia. His name is Dede, he has been on surgery for 10 times but his warts keep coming countinously after 2 to 3 month and grows rapidly. So for those people who think and make funny of this guy be mercy for yourself you are not even better than him
