The Cathedral of the Holy Spirit just outside of Atlanta is the center of a massive scandal of massive proportions. Fortunately there were no Catholic priests involved, so no children were directly harmed. The senior pastor D.E. Paulk did however recently Find out that the church’s leader, his uncle Earl Paulk was actually his father.
The fact was learned only when paternity tests stemming from a lawsuit charging the leader of the church Earl Paulk with manipulating a former employee into having an affair with him. Mona Brewer claims Earl told her the affair that lasted from 1989 to 2003 would be her only path to salvation.
The giant church complex sits on one hundred acres and features a massive Gothic like cathedral.
Today Earl Paulk has a much smaller role in the church, only leading a ten minute lecture each Sunday worship.
“My uncle is 100 percent guilty, but his accusers are guilty as well,” D.E. Paulk said, declining to talk further about the lawsuits.
