25-year-old babysitter has affair with 14-year-old

In what many kids would describe as a childhood fantasy a Las Cruces 14-year-old carried on an affair with his 25-year-old babysitter.

Annette Martinez, who may be pregnant from the boy is facing one count of sexual penetration of a minor which is a fourth degree felony. Police said more charges were pending against the babysitter who apparently slept with the boy about 40 times beginning in July.

According to records Martinez fell in love with the boy and wanted to have his baby. The relationship was discovered when the boy ran away to the apartment of of Annette Martinez. The mother had a heated conversation with the babysitter on the telephone and Annette reportedly broke down crying and confessed to the affair.

Martinez has a previous felony conviction for shoplifting and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

She is currently being held on a five thousand dollar bond.
