Long Beach cop shoots LAPD cop

In what might be the first shots fired in a new LA gang rivalry a Long Beach police officer shot an LAPD police officer early Wednesday morning.
Los Angeles Police Department officer Jason Geggie was shot by an unnamed Long Beach police officer. Officers from the Long Beach police department were responding to a call about a person brandishing a gun while walking down the street on Mira Mar Avenue at or about 12:30am. Officers responding to the call shot Geggie twice, once in the arm and once in the torso and was taken to a local hospital where he is reported to be in stable condition.
Jason Geggie, 26, who has been an LAPD officer for less than two years lives in Long Beach and was apparently out of uniform and off duty at the time. Geggie was booked for investigation of two counts of exhibiting a firearm in a threatening manner.
Both police departments are conducting investigations on the shooting.
