Uganda may ban miniskirts to reduce traffic accidents
|
Uganda’s ethics and integrity minister is seeking a ban on miniskirts in an effort to reduce traffic accidents.
Nsaba Buturo told journalists that wearing a miniskirt was like walking naked in the streets.
“What’s wrong with a miniskirt? You can cause an accident because some of our people are weak mentally,” he said.
Wearing a miniskirt should be regarded as “indecent”, which would be punishable under Ugandan law, Mr Buturo said.
And he railed against the dangers facing those inadvertently distracted by short skirts.
“If you find a naked person you begin to concentrate on the make-up of that person and yet you are driving,” he said.
“These days you hardly know who is a mother from a daughter, they are all naked.”
The same official is seeking a dress code for women in universities and is not just concerned with women’s fashion.
Other societal ills include theft, embezzlement, sectarianism, homosexuality, infidelity, greed, sub-standard service and prostitution.
One Response to “Uganda may ban miniskirts to reduce traffic accidents”

Some of our people are weak mentally? Then those people who are weak mentally should be fined. They should outlaw those who cannot keep their eyes on traffic or those who think it is okay to rape a woman who wears a miniskirt. Such backward thinking, but I bet I can guess the background of the ethics and integrity minister, and I’ll just bet he is one of those weak minded individuals for whom he has so much empathy.
