Violent smoking cure kills two

A married couple from Malaysia died of their injuries suffered during a bizarre ritual intended to cure them of their smoking habit.

47 year old Mohamed Ibrahim Kader Mydin and his wife Rosina went to visit their family and were met with a violent smoking intervention that cost them their lives.

Mohamed had been looking to stop smoking because he was suffering from asthma and a liver condition.

Their relatives smashed their heads on a table and beat them with motorcycle helmets and brooms.

A 15 year-old daughter of one of the relatives was attacked when she stumbled onto the violent ritual. She is currently listed in critical condition in a nearby hospital fighting for her life.

Authorities believe the relatives are part of a ‘deviant’ cult and have arrested the four relatives.
