Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak recently predicted the imminent death of the iPod in an interview with the british newspaper The Telegraph.
In the wide ranging interview Wozniak agreed with a recent de-valuation of his old company Apple.
Wozniak has been essentially retired since leaving Apple in 1987 which he co-founded along with Steven Jobs.
The iPod has sort of lived a long life at number one,” he says. “Things like, that if you look back to transistor radios and Walkmans, they kind of die out after a while.
“It’s kind of like everyone has got one or two or three. You get to a point when they are on display everywhere, they get real cheap and they are not selling as much.”
He criticized software imposed limitations placed on the iPhone, DRM restrictions on iTunes and predicted Web 2.0 was an over-speculated bubble that would lead to a huge drop off in the tech market.
