Mormons ordered to stop baptizing dead people

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints otherwise known as the Mormon church has been asked to stop a practice called posthumous baptism by proxy.

The Mormons have been baptizing the dead for more than a century and for a small fee your deceased relatives can be baptized.

In May, the Vatican ordered Catholic dioceses worldwide to withhold member registries from Mormons so that Catholics could not be baptized.

The church has an massive genealogical database that people can use to baptize deceased relatives so they can be together in the afterlife.

Jewish groups were upset when as many as 42,000 more names were of holocaust victims were found.

The Mormon church has already removed over 260,000 names of holocaust victims and believes the new entries were made by well-meaning individuals.

Ernest Michel a holocaust survivor said he will not sue, and that “the only thing left, therefore, is to turn to the court of public opinion.”

In May of this year the Vatican ordered Catholic dioceses around the world to not share information with the Mormon database after similar complaints.

Mormon officials claim that a new database called the New Family Search being tested now will discourage the submission of large numbers of unrelated names.
