An Israeli soldier was sentenced to 21 days in jail by his commander for yawning during a memorial service.
The soldier’s mother said her son yawned without covering his mouth while his commander was speaking at a memorial event for the country’s late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
Rabin is considered a national hero in Israel both for his career in the army and his peace efforts that earned him a Nobel Peace Prize.
The solider was stationed at an Air Force base in the northern part of Isreal.
