Police trooper runs into naked man

A naked man on a motorcycle who crashed with an Arkansas state trooper’s cruiser on a night when it was sleeting faces misdemeanor charges. A police report said a 35-year-old man kept riding when a trooper tried to pull him over during the Jan. 26 incident.

The man stopped abruptly several times in the street and then sped up quickly, until the trooper bumped him on one of the stops. Continue Reading »

30 years of work destroyed by car crash

A Utah woman listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for her long fingernails has lost them in a car crash. Lee Redmond of Salt Lake City sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the accident Tuesday.

Redmond’s nails, which hadn’t been cut since 1979, were broken in the crash. According to the Guinness Web site, her nails measured a total of more than 28 feet long in 2008, with the longest nail on her right thumb at 2 feet, 11 inches. Continue Reading »

Nokia cloud ruins friendships

Nokia Corp. begged for forgiveness from consumers after its new cloud-based service broke down.

The Finnish manufacturer — which is striving to evolve into a mobile Internet services company — said its Contacts for Ovi offering shut down after a cooler failed, causing a server to crash.
