Communist Chinese destroy sex focused Love Land theme park

Chinese communist leaders bulldozed a theme park in Chongqing named Love Land that was to open in October.

The park which featured giant statues with red thong underwear with a rotating sign was the first to be destroyed.

The park’s founder Lu Xiaoqing had lamented: “Sex is a taboo subject in China but people really need to have more access to information about it. We are building the park for the good of the public. I have found that the majority of people support my idea, but I have to pay attention and not make the park look vulgar and nasty.”

After a recent inspection by the city a propaganda official said: “The investigation determined the park’s content was vulgar and that it was neither healthy nor educational. It had an evil influence on society and had to be torn down immediately.”

The park featured a giant replica of genitals and an exhibition on the history of sex as well as naked sculptures.

It was to feature sex technique workshops and fight to stop the spread of AIDS by teaching safe sex.

Li Yinhe, an expert on Chinese sexual habits said the new park represented changing attitudes in Chinese towards sex.

“But people will become more tolerant and have positive attitudes towards sex; for example, people [already] care more about female orgasm. I read a report saying in the west about 90% of women have experienced orgasm, but in China the number is only 28%,” she said.

One of her research projects showed that in Beijing the percentage of people having premarital sex rose from under 16% in 1989 to over 60% in 2004.
