Vice President Joe Biden who is giving former president George Bush a run for his money in political gaffes divulged the secret location of the vice presidential bunker in at a media dinner.

At the Gridiron Club dinner in Washington DC, where politicians and media elite can mingle Biden went into great detail about the secret bunker.

With of Newsweek listening to him he retold the story of how a young Naval officer gave him a tour of the bunker in the Naval Observatory, where the Vice President has lived since 1974.

According to her blog Eleanor Clift of Newsweek the Vice President “said a young naval officer giving him a tour of the residence showed him the hideaway, which is behind a massive steel door secured by an elaborate lock with a narrow connecting hallway lined with shelves filled with communications equipment.”

Clift continued: “The officer explained that when Cheney was in lock down, this was where his most trusted aides were stationed, an image that Biden conveyed in a way that suggested we shouldn’t be surprised that the policies that emerged were off the wall.”

Nearby residents had long suspected the Observatory had a bunker when they observed unusual construction on the site.

The Vice President’s spokesperson denied the account, and contends that Biden was speaking about an upstairs guest room.

The world’s most expensive corporate jet flew over ground zero at only a thousand feet of the ground trailed by fighter jets.

The 747 trailed by F-16 fighter jets flew two loops from the Verrazano bridge, passed over the statue of liberty and towards Staten Island.

We all ran to the window, and I thought, that’s it, we’re all dead,” said Chris Biancamano, 36, who works at a brokerage in Jersey City. “It brought back all the memories of 9/11. I said, ‘I have to get out of here now!’ ”

The President was not on board Air Force One at the time and although city officials and the FAA had been notified the public at large was not.

Obama apologized for the confusion calling it a “mistake” and saying it would not happen it again.

Even the White House press secretary dismissed complaints saying he had no knowledge of the fly over.

RIVERA BEACH, Florida — Most of the founding fathers may not have risked their lives to create a constitution protecting pants falling off that were modeled off male prisoners signaling their openness to having sex with other prisoners.

The pants were originally labeled as intended for “easy access” but found their way into hip hop.

Riviera Beach’s saggy pants ordinance had prohibited anyone from wearing pants below the waist exposing skin or underwear.

That ordinance — and your pants if you so desire were dropped Wednesday by Palm Beach County Judge Laura Johnson.

A referendum endorsing the ban was supported by 72 percent of city voters in March 2008. Riviera Beach began enforcing the ordinance in July but it was ruled unconstitutional by Johnson, city spokeswoman Rose Anne Brown said.

The ban had fines of $150 for the first offense and $300 for the second, and was a misdemeanor that fewer than 20 people had been charged with.

WASHINGTON, DC — House’s National Economic Council Director Lawrence Summers was so captivated with plans to rescue the economy with Barack Obama he fell asleep.

Most people are allowed to sleep through meetings until they are fired or yelled at.

But not when you are sitting steps away from the Greatest American President of all time the eyes of the world are watching, even if you are staring at the inside of your own eyelids.

Summers is the Charles W. Eliot University Professor at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

He was the Secretary of the Treasury for the last year and a half of the Clinton Administration and President of Harvard University until he made fun of women’s math skills.

According to Summers, the preponderance of males in high-end science and engineering positions could be explained by the following: first, that more men than women were willing to make the commitment in terms of time and flexibility demanded by high-powered jobs; second, and controversially, that there were differences in the intrinsic abilities of men and women at the extremes (3.5 to 4 standard deviations above the mean), as shown by higher variance in aptitude, abilities, or preferences relevant to science and engineering among men (see Gender differences); and third, that the discrepancy was due to discrimination or socialization. He also stated his view that the order given reflected the relative importance of each of the three hypotheses.

So President Barack Obama thinks he bowls like a competitor in the Special Olympics?

He’s obviously never met Kolan McConiughey, a mentally disabled man considered one of the nation’s top Special Olympics bowlers, with five perfect games to his credit. He’d like to go to the White House and show the president a thing or two about how to roll strikes.

“He bowled a 129. I bowl a 300. I could beat that score easily,” McConiughey said Friday.

His challenge to Obama followed the president’s offhand remark on Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show” Thursday comparing his famously inept bowling to “the Special Olympics or something.” Recognizing his blunder, Obama apologized to the chairman of the Special Olympics before the show aired.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs on Friday said the president believes that the Special Olympics are “a triumph of the human spirit.” Gibbs added that Obama understands that the athletes “deserve a lot better than the thoughtless joke that he made last night.”

During an interview with The Associated Press, the 35-year-old McConiughey quickly rolled several strikes with his left-handed hook in a short demonstration of his prowess at Colonial Lanes in Ann Arbor.

In addition to five perfect games since 2005, McConiughey has also had an 800 series and carries a 212 average. He laughed as he joked about the popular president’s apparently poor game.

“I’d tell him to get a new bowling ball, new shoes and bring him down to the lane,” said McConiughey, who speaks with a serious stutter. “Keep his body straight, his arm straight and keep his steps straight. He has to practice every single day.”

Special Olympics Chairman Timothy Shriver was quick to respond to the president’s apology.

“He expressed his disappointment, and he apologized in a way that was very moving,” Shriver said Friday on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Obama, Shriver said, wants to have some Special Olympic athletes visit the White House to bowl or play basketball.

Still, Shriver said: “I think it’s important to see that words hurt, and words do matter. And these words that in some respect can be seen as humiliating or a put-down to people with special needs do cause pain, and they do result in stereotypes.”

Shriver is the son of Eunice Kennedy-Shriver, who founded the Special Olympics and has championed the rights of the mentally disabled.

His sister, Maria Shriver, wife of California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and a longtime Obama supporter, said laughing at the president’s comments “hurts millions of people throughout the world.”

“People with special needs are great athletes and productive citizens,” Shriver said.

After a White House meeting with the president, Schwarzenegger was asked about Obama’s remark and said he knew the president’s heart.

“He loves Special Olympics, and he would do everything he can to help Special Olympics,” the governor said.

With an IQ less than half of the 100 considered average, McConiughey lives with his foster mother and has held the same job at a grocery store for 16 years. He greets customers, sweeps floors and maintains the store’s break room.

“He can’t read much, can’t do math, can’t do bill-paying,” said his foster mother, Jan Pardy. “Kolan faces all these challenges, but he has an area of genius, and his genius is bowling.”

McConiughey has been bowling since about age 8. And he still finds time to bowl in three leagues.

“It would be an honor for him to bowl with the president of the United States,” said Lois Arnold, president of the Special Olympics in Michigan.

Pardy said she saw Obama’s comment on TV Friday morning and was not offended.

“Everybody has missteps,” she said. “I don’t think it was a slam against the Special Olympics.”

New Jersey is smoothing out differences over a plan to ban bare-it-all bikini waxing.

The state on Friday decided to reverse course on the proposal after angry salon owners complained about losing business ahead of swimsuit season.

“It was an unnecessary issue,” said spa owner Linda Orsuto. “In New Jersey especially, where the government has been picking our pockets for so long, it was like, ‘Just stay out of our pants, will you?’”

The state Cosmetology and Hairstyling Board proposed banning so-called “Brazilian” bikini waxing after two women were hospitalized for infections following the procedure.

On Friday, Consumer Affairs Director David Szuchman effectively killed the plan. In a letter to the board, Szuchman says he won’t support the ban, and since his office oversees the board, the ban would never be approved.

“Many commenters have noted that the procedure can be safely performed. I, therefore, believe that there are alternate means to address any public health issues identified by the board,” Szuchman wrote the board. He encouraged the board to “to begin an immediate review of the training necessary to safely provide this service, and to establish appropriate protocols and safeguards.”

The ban was considered after the women complained to the board about their injuries; one woman filed a lawsuit.

Technically, genital waxing has never been allowed in New Jersey — only the face, neck, abdomen, legs and arms are permitted. But because bare-it-all “Brazilians” weren’t specifically banned, state regulators didn’t enforce the law.

No other state is known to explicitly ban the procedure, according to cosmetology experts.

Genital waxing can be dangerous because the hot wax can irritate or tear delicate skin in the bikini area, resulting in infections, ingrown hairs and rashes, according to skin care experts.

Despite such risks, millions of American women — and some men — choose to have the hair down there ripped away, and a majority of salons in New Jersey offer the procedure for $50 to $60.

Salon owners worried that customers would travel across state lines to get the popular — and painful — procedure, or try to wax themselves.

Orsuto, who owns 800 West Salon & Spa in Cherry Hill, a Philadelphia suburb, said was relieved.

Orsuto estimated that bikini waxing brought in about $90,000 last year. That’s a substantial amount of business for her salon, which performed about 1,800 treatments — most of which were Brazilian-style.

“We were panicking,” she said.

A county clerk in Colorado has a simple response to staff cuts caused by budget shortfalls: Just don’t answer the phones.

El Paso County officials complain that the staff of the county Clerk and Recorder’s office stopped answering calls last months. Instead, recorded messages refer all callers to the assessor’s and treasurer’s offices.

County Clerk Bob Balink had to lay off 19 staffers late last year because of budget cuts.

Treasurer Sandra Damron said her 17 employees have been “slammed” with calls. “We didn’t know he wasn’t answering the phones,” she told The Gazette of Colorado Springs.

County Assessor Mark Lowderman told the newspaper that the clerk’s office didn’t give him any warning that callers were being referred to his office.

Lowderman and Damron say the policy is a disservice to people who have business with the clerk’s office but can’t visit in person or don’t have Internet access.

Balink didn’t immediately respond on Tuesday to an Associated Press e-mail seeking comment.

Al Qaida’s second in command Ayman al-Zawahri called president-elect Barack Obama a racial slur in a recently released video.

Zawahri only appears in a still photo with audio during the 11 minute video released by the terrorist organization.

The video also includes images of Obama wearing a yamaka or Jewish skull cap taken during a meeting with Jewish leaders.

The tape goes on to insult Obama as “the direct opposite of honorable black Americans” like Malcolm X, the 1960s African-American rights leader.

Then to cap the insults it calls him a term that can be translated to either house slave or house negro.

The English subtitles for the video do however use the term ‘house negro’.

The video also shows old footage of speeches by American black muslim leader Malcolm X. In the footage Malcolm X explains the term which referred to slaves who worked within the household rather than in the fields.

Normally these slaves lived under much better conditions than their counterparts. It was meant as a criticism of black leaders he accused of not standing up to the whites.

Zawahri went on to say “America has put on a new face, but its heart full of hate, mind drowning in greed, and spirit which spreads evil, murder, repression and despotism continue to be the same as always.”

In 2008 the percentage was 93% of winners outspending their opponents, 94% in 2006 and 98% in 2004.

President elect Obama has called for a fix to what he called a ‘broken’ campaign-fincance system.

Although critics point out he outspent McCain 3-to-1 in so-called battleground states, and he turned down public funding despite promises to do the opposite.

Overall Obama raised $639.2 million compared to $335 million to McCain.

The average seat in the US House of Representatives now costs an average of one million dollars to win.

Officials warned that the very idea of “British” implies a false sense of unity in a leaflet advising staff how to deal with the public.

The man behind the ban is Labor Minister Ron Davies who lost his cabinet position after being robbed at a gay meeting place.

The Caerphilly council has 9,000 employees and about about 170,000 residents.

The Welsh region was originally a Celtic nation and has been part of Britain since the 13th-century.

Opposition politician David Davies attacked the decision saying ‘There’s absolutely nothing offensive about describing people as British.’

‘This is political correctness gone mad. Organisations like this are using public money to propagate their own narrow nationalistic ideas.’

‘Perhaps they should be replaced by a single body that promotes Britishness and encourages everyone in this country, whether black, Asian or white to unite and stand together under the British flag.’
